Message from the Lower School Head

Greetings, all visitors!

As I enter my third year as Lower School Head, I’m prouder than ever of the unique educational experience we offer each one of our students.

Through our Lower School and Preschool offerings, RPCS’ youngest girls engage in centuries-old traditions while participating in innovative field experiences that bring them into authentic contact with the wide and wonderful world beyond school walls.

Where else can Second Graders research the famed 1000-mile Iditarod race, then host a “We Love Animals” club to collect money, treats and toys for Baltimore’s rescue dogs (and cats)?

Where else can Pre-Schoolers watch seeds unfurl on iPads, then plant and harvest vegetables in the school's robust garden?

Where else can a Fifth Grader write a five-paragraph essay to articulate her stance on one of Maryland’s pressing issues, then make an appointment with her family’s legislative representatives to lobby with peers in Annapolis?

Where else can young girls learn dance, Chinese and the fine art of bottle-brick bench making the same day as math, literacy, social studies, science, library, music and physical education classes?

Only at RPCS.

Browse our website and see for yourself how An Education Above builds committed lifelong learners as well as compassionate and inspiring citizens of the world.
